The application period for 2016-2017 study year runs from the September 1 to the 30th.
You have three different course categories to choose from.
First there is The Asian Programme which is an interdisciplinary Bachelor level study programme that provides students basic knowledge of Asia. It is a good introduction to Asia for students whose study or career plans relate to the region. You can either take individual courses or do the complete Asian Programme with 25 credits.

Secondly there is the Mini Minor. The Mini Minor is designed for students who prefer to include a small minor in Asian Studies in their degree. Focus on a single theme or region for 10 credits.

Finally there are Master’s Level courses. Master’s level online courses offer advanced knowledge on Asia. Courses focus on political, social, cultural and economic issues of Asian countries.

All courses are free of charge for students from Asianet member universities: Aalto University, Lappeenranta University of Technology (only for Autumn 2016 courses), Universities of Jyväskylä, Oulu, Tampere, Turku and Vaasa and the Åbo Akademi University. University of Helsinki becomes a member in the beginning of 2017.
Polytechnic students can also study for free if their school endorses the studies. Courses can also be taken as self-paid studies (á 250€/program). Read more here.
