Doctoral seminar during the Asian Studies Days 2021
This doctoral seminar is arranged in connection with the annual Asian Studies Days and it provides an outstanding opportunity to meet other doctoral students whose work focuses on Asia, and to receive feedback from senior researchers who have a profound knowledge of the region.

November 19, doctoral seminar and data workshop
This year the doctoral seminar is arranged at the University of Jyväskylä.

The seminar is open to all PhD candidates in Finnish Universities whose thesis develops new knowledge about East, Southeast or South Asia (society, politics, economy, business, culture, history, law). PhD candidates are expected to participate either with a research plan, full research paper, or a chapter of the thesis. Suitable length of the paper is ca 6,000 words.
The Finnish University Network for Asian Studies will provide free accommodation for one night in a double room and a travel grant up to 40 euros for PhD candidates who fulfill the following qualifications
– attends the events both on the 18th and 19th of November
– whose paper is accepted to the seminar
– is registered as a doctoral candidate in one of the Network’s members universities (Jyväskylä, Tampere or Turku)
– does not live in Jyväskylä region
