Register for Asianet courses now in Peppi or Sisu!

Register now to Asianet courses in your own institutions Peppi, Sisu or Pakki registry!

Application to the online courses of the Finnish University Network for Asian Studies has been reformed!  From August 2025 onwards, students register to Asianet courses in their own institutions Peppi, Sisu or Pakki-system. This applies to students who are actively enrolled as degree students in a member university of the Finnish University Network for Asian Studies (JYU, TAU, UTU + JAMK and TAMK).  Application to courses is now much easier thanks to the RIPA Cross-institutional Study System.

From August 2025 onwards, Asianet no longer arranges periodical application periods. Instead eligible students register to the courses through their own institutions Peppi or Sisu system.

Each course has its own registration period. Please check the times from Peppi or Sisu and from the course introductions here on our website.

Asianet Courses organized in autumn 2025

In autumn 2025 the following courses are organised. Read the course descriptions from the website of the Finnish University Network for Asian Studies (links below) or from your own institutions Peppi, Sisu or Pakki.  Some courses have a limited maximum intake. Students are selected in the order of application and the places are divided evenly between the member universities of the Network (JYU, TAU, UTU). Self-paying students who have an active non-degree study right at UTU register the courses in TY Peppi.

Introductory and intermediate courses:

Advanced courses

How to register for the courses?

1. Students from member universities of the Finnish University Network for Asian Studies (JYU, TAU, UTU, Jamk and Tamk)

The courses are free of charge for actively enrolled degree students of the member universities: University of Turku, University of Jyväskylä (including JAMK University of Applied Sciences) and Tampere university (including JAMK University of Applied Sciences).

How to find Asianet courses in your university’s Peppi or Sisu?

    • TAMK:  Find our courses from TAMK-Pakki. Search for courses in the category of “Cross-institutional studies” and search Yliopistojen Aasia-verkosto / Finnish University Network for Asian Studies. Read the course descriptions and register. Remember to add the courses to your PSP/HOPS.

2. Other students and interested individuals

If you are not a student of the member universities, but would still like to take our courses, you can apply for a self-paying non-degree study right at the University of Turku.

By applying for a non-degree study right at UTU you have the option to take courses and pursue a full minor for a fee of 250 euros. To do this, you must first fill out the UTU application form for non-degree studies. Applications for non-degree study rights to Asianet courses are accepted in August and November. Once you have received the acceptance letter, make sure to pay the study fee in order to activate your study right. Then you can register for courses in UTU Peppi. Self-funding students who want to take advanced courses have to prove that they have basic knowledge of the topic either through studies or working experience. If you already have an existing and valid non-degree study right for Asianet courses, you can now sign up to the courses in UTU Peppi. Remember to add the courses to your UTU Personal Study Plan (HOPS), which has now been created for you.
