In our Introductory courses you gain key knowledge of Asian history and contemporary societies as well as business environments. In the Advanced courses you can deepen your knowledge in a more focused area.

- Socio-ecological Problem-solving in Southeast Asia and Europe (3 ECTS)
By combining Bachelor level (Introductory) and Master level (Advanced) courses, you can compile a minor in two different ways: Mini Minor in Asian Studies (10 ECTS) or Asian Programme (25 ECTS).

How to apply?
- Students of Asia Network’s member universities
Fill in the application form. Students who are actively enrolled in a member university of the Asia Network can take the courses free of charge. This includes both degree students and exchange students.
The members of the Finnish University Network for Asian Studies are:
- University of Turku
- University of Jyväskylä
- Tampere University
Students from the following universities of applied sciences can also take part in Asianet courses free of charge due to local bilateral institutional agreements:
- Tampere University of Applied Sciences (through the agreement with Tampere University)
- JAMK University of Applied Sciences (through the agreement with University of Jyväskylä)
2. Through Open University at the University of Turku
Some courses arranged by the Center for East Asian Studies can be taken via the Open University. The Open University has its own, separate application process, criteria and fees. For more information, please visit these pages:

3. Free open MOOC-courses
The 3 ECTS part of the Bachelor’s level MOOC-courses are open and free of charge for everyone. Course areas can be accessed during the course period via DigiCampus platform by logging into the course with your Google or HAKA account. Independently enrolled students will receive a certificate from the DigiCampus platform after completing the course, but they will NOT receive credits.
Decisions
Once your application has been processed, you will receive a message about the decision. This will come a few weeks after the application period has ended. If you are accepted to the course, you will receive a welcoming email on the first day of each course and gain access to the course site on Moodle. The welcome email comes to the address you have given in the application form. It may go to the spam or offers-folder of your email, so check those folders as well.
Before applying to a course, please check with your own institution whether you can include the course in your degree.
